REALLY WEIRD Dish Network Problem?

OK, so during dinner we were watching TV. We have Dish Network and we have never had a problem. But all of a sudden right in the middle of a program, it shut down. I don't mean the power went out or anything, but our DVR completly restarted itself. My dad works for Dish Network and he said that the only was that is possible is if you go over and press the butten. I mean, the lights on the system completly went out. We have no idea how it happend because it accually restarted itself. How is that possible? The DVR is only about a year or 2 old. Help!

The system rebooted itself. This maybe rare but not unusual in such devices.  Maybe it uploaded a new firmware upgrade (make sure updates occur at 3:00 AM or so) or maybe a temporary failure in one of the components triggered a reboot. I would not worry about it, unless it starts happening more frequently.
