Quite often the card has a waxy or plastic sort of surface. this might be in the form of pizza boxes, The sleeve from food that comes in a plastic tray, Christmas cards with a shiny surface, the sort that felt pens wont write on. Help please. I dont want to get it wrong.

  1. check with your local community recycling department to see what they will and will not take.  some landfills/dumps do have the ability to accept and recycle many boxes that aren't picked up curbside.. but it depends on your locality.  contact your city or county and ask about alternatives.

you can check online and may find a website like this one... http://www.oregonlink.com/recycle/curbsi...  ... according to this site, wax cardboard cannot be recycled.

    thanks for thinking about this!

  2. Not sure about shiny cardboard but it does have to be clean. By that I mean no sticky tape or such like.

If you take cardboard to your household recycling centre, they can advise; if you put it out for collection, any bad items will get sorted out in the process.

    Good luck.

  3. It depends on what kinds they take where you live.

  4. depends on its weight

  5. Put everything in - let them decide

  6. card board is made from trees it goes right back in to the ground  so if you but it in the trash it is still going to be recycled. we call it composting.

  7. well normally they wont take freezer cardboard like frozen pizza or other goodies.  if theres a piece that has grease on it, they wont take that either.  the christmas cards they will take.

it depends on what your recycler will take, but this is what mine sticks to.
