Question:

RED light on my amp please helpp!!!?

we are hooking up my sub and i have a mtx tc2002 and the right light keeps coming on and the sub wont work. we tried numerous different grounds. i dunno what color is it supposed to be? what could be wrong?

  1. is the amp really hot?

    its probably on when red by the way, not broken.

    is the ground wire on metal lol?

    unpainted metal by the way


  2. Check for shorts in the speaker or in the line out of the amplifier into the speaker itself.  Do you have multiple speakers on the chain?  If it is one 4ohm speaker you should use bridged mode, if you have 2 4ohm speakers both should be run independently in L/R config.  This amp does not like to see a 2ohm load in bridged mono.
