  1. I'm a big Skins fan, and in my opinion, Jason Campbell sucks. He's had his chance and he's blown it. And, I'd bet you money he will blow it all over again this year, handing the reins to backup Todd Collins, who is good, but Brennan deserves the start over either of them.

  2. I don't think he'll be the starter, but he'll probably be the #2 QB for sure (unless Campbell gets hurt I guess, then he might start?).

I've been extremely impressed and I'm admittedly very surprised by how good Brennan has looked in the pre-season.  He may not have been a "scouting-combine-beauty-queen", but he's apparently a very legit football player.

  3. If he does become the starter, I don't think it will be this season.  He did look impressive the first pre-season game, but remember it's still pre-season.  As of right now, Campbell is the starter.  Unfortunately for him,  I don't think he's the long-term answer the 'Skins hoped he'd be.  He's already had a few seasons to learn the system and improve.  He hasn't done much improving from what I've seen.  He's adequate enough to get them to 8-8 but probably not much higher than that.  As for Todd Collins, he did look good last year filling in for a hurt Campbell, but he's also 35 or 36?  Whatever his exact age, he's not the answer for the future either.  He'll be around a couple more seasons then hang it up.  I think Colt Brennan will eventually become the starter.  After they've had enough of Campbell's sucking, Brennan will probably take over before the beginning of next year's season. As for this year, I think they'd prefer to have him learn the system and get acquainted with everything before throwing him to the lions.  Rookies don't typically fare well on the field.  They need time to develop.  That's what they'll end up doing with Colt.

  4. I think you may be right.

Although I wouldn't put too much stock into Brennan's preseason performances, he was drafted by the new regim.  Campbell is far from being a franchise quarterback.  The tendancy for a new head coach to want to play "his players" is a way of life in the NFL.  Campbell will always be looking over his shoulder which will only add to the pressure he feels to keep his job as a starter.  A slow start for the Redskins could very well open the door to the dreaded QB CONTROVERSY.

  5. You're giving up on Campbell already? He's been all right, remember he's going through his 3rd different offense since being drafted. Colt has performed well in the pre-season, but don't forget, he's been going up against 2nd and 3rd string defenses. You might want to see what he can do against starters before throwing him in the fire. Although, if they want to start him November 3, I'm fine with that.

  6. I'm not a Redskins fan, because they blow, but I think you might be right about that.

  7. Only through injury. This is actually possible since Campbell and Collins sit ahead of him in the depth chart.

But I also remember Bruce Gradkowski (sp?) having a great preseason a few years ago and he ultimately fizzled.

If this happens it means the skins are finishing dead last. Similar situation to last year in Baltimore when they threw in Troy Smith when their season was a wash.

  8. no way.

  9. No way. Its Campbells job to lose, (which I doubt he will) than its Todd Collins. Brennan is only like the third or ourth option. He might be the starter in two or three years, but no quarterback gets serious playing time as a rookie, barring injuries.

  10. No, i seriously doubt that. But if Campbell doesn't show improvement by cutting down on the turnovers you never know.

For the Redskins fans, i sure as h**l hope not.

  11. My thought?

    You're high.

    You asked.

  12. It doesn't matter anyways, the Cowboys are still gonna beat yall

  13. I've got a feeling that you are wrong.  Campbell is the starter and Collins is the backup.  Unless Campbell gets hurt and the season is lost Brennan won't even be in the game.

  14. your right cause ware is gonna kill cambell

  15. Have you listened to what Jim Zorn said after the Hall of Fame game?  Colt has a LOT to learn still...Jason Campbell is poised for a breakout year this year which will put all that talk on hold.  Even if something were to happen to Campbell, they would go to Todd Collins, who led them to 4 straight wins to make the playoffs last year.  Brennan is a nice project, but he's YEARS away from being an effective QB in the NFL.  Jason Campbell has the right guy coaching him now (remember, Zorn turned Matt Hasselbeck into a Pro-Bowler) the offense will surprise people.

    HTTR

  16. I don't think so. Jim Zorn is way to commited to Jason Campbell. But if he screws up this season I think there may be a good chance that Brennan will start in the 09-10 season.

  17. i rather have jason campbell honestly

    Colt #2 - as in career back-up
