Alaska gives a piece of the oil money to every person living in the state. (Last year it was $1200.) This is the most socialistic thing any government in this country does! Should we tax the oil companies and give everyone in the nation a piece? Why not? Your Messiah-ette does it in Alaska!

She raised taxes on the oil companies last year and this is cited as one of her accomplishments by Republicans.

Obama proposed raising taxes on oil companies and Republicans ridiculed the idea as something that would cause higher gas prices.

This is not socialism.   There are no social programs, no re-distribution of wealth, etc tied to these rebates.  If Alaska were socialist, it wouldn't rebate this money.  It would spend it on things like state-wide health care.

Well h**l...where's my non-communist royalty check. My state is poked full of holes with grasshoppers sitting on them. Some of it has to be public land considering there are parks and lakes there.

I think maybe Alaska is just a little toooooo close to Russia.

That is not in any matter socialistic.   That money, if what you say is true, is to encourage people  to stay in that state ,where no many americans want to live.   Would you go an live in a state where half of the year is in darkness, and really cold all year long? I don't, not even with 2,000 dollars (If they give me that money I will stay for a couple of weeks, then I would come back to the beautiful lower 48 states.

That is called royalties.  Oil and gas companies pay the state of Alaska to drill on state land.  This money makes up about 85% of their state budget.  This is not coming from "taxing" the oil companies, it is just the price the oil companies pay to use state-owned land.
