RES attacked by PITT!! please help!!!!?

Question

my dog clawed at my turtle out of curiosity. he is in one piece but still hurt.

his shell has been clawed.

i really need some help here. hes a twelve year old.

Contact a vet in your area who specializes in reptiles. There should be one in your town or close by. If not, contact a wildlife facility and they can direct you to the right place. If the shell is broken it can be repaired by a vet.

Take him to the vet.If you can't ,then get some Betadine solution ( povidone -iodine) and clean the wound with it.Keep the turtle on dry paper towels until it heals up,but let him soak in water for an hour every day before applying the Betadine,and supply a shallow dish for drinking water.You will have to feed him when you give him his soak.Make sure to rinse the wound with clean water and dry it before applying the Betadine. It will take a while to heal.
