RES questions????????

how can i tell how old my RES is and how long do they live?

they can live for a really long time!

It's pretty difficult to judge age once a turtle reaches maturity/adult size.  The rapid growth of the shell slows almost to a stop (reptiles grow their entire lifespan), and it loses the detail/ridges/color of younger turtles.

I'll post a few sites below you can peek at in your spare time, and learn a bit of general information on them.

you never really know how old they are. Some times you can guess when they are babies, hatchlings ..but as a full grown 8" hard to say.My 36 yr old are both about 8" cause I got them when they were almost the size of a 50 cent peice and I was told they were 2 yrs old...I have an 8 yr old who is the same size..and my almost 6 yr old is about 4".

They aren't really suppose to live past 25, but mine never heard of those odds.
