RESEARCH TOPICs!!!?

Question

I have to do a research project on something related to engineering. It can basically be on anything (just somehow it has to relate to engineering). I would appreciate any suggestions.

First of all, you never mentioned in which field of engineering you are interested. If you are related to Electrical / Electronic Engineering, you can go for projects using controller, basically microcontrollers. You can even do computer-simulations of other background of engineering. Choice is yours but it completely depends on your field of study. But while choosing, keep one thing in the back of your mind, apart from computer based simulations, real equipments based project should better be as automated as possible. Because if you want to stick to studying, automated designs will help the cause in a big way. All the best.

That's really wide open...

What are you interested in?  that usually makes a good start of a topic.

You could research some aspect of technology.  How have turbine blades changed over the years for wind generation?

You could look at education processes.   How have engineering teaching changed or improved/decayed over time?

You could research career tracks.  What is the expected payback (IRR) of an engineering degree when compared to a business degree.

How about some aspect of non-gasoline powered transportation systems?  What are issues involved with building hydrogen refueling stations?

If you're interested in civil engineering, learn about how much sway is acceptable or required in a skyscraper.  What are limits to heights of buildings?  What are the limiting factors?
