I stumbled across a site that takes poll information and then sends you stuff. does anyone know if this is legit?

Well I dont know .. you didnt leave a website or anything for us to look at... there are some websites that are legit while other are just thier to collect info to sell it to third parties. I use American Consumer Opinion Surveys (I think its called LOL I havent done one for a while...) ... but they have sent me things before (like shampoos to try, body washes, perfumes) and then fill out the survey about the product and send it back...blah blah blah

No credit card required and the surveys are free. Check it out if your interested. If you dont like what you see you can do custom orders. I got a free PS3. Have a look
