RG Deuce Lutui replaces injured Leroy Harris in Tennessee Titans vs Chicago Bears – NFL News
An out-of-blue opportunity has presented itself to veteran right guard Deuce Lutui to start for the Tennessee Titans this Sunday (Nov. 04) at the place of Leroy Harris, who has made himself unavailable for selection due to a knee injury.
In spite of the fact that he has many years of experience on his profile, he was reduced to play a backup role for Harris and this week’s opportunity has paved the way for him prove his credentials as one of the best offensive guards in the town.
Struggling Titans face visitors the Chicago Bears and protection to their quarterbacks and other offensive line players will be crucial to put pressure on them.
The team has only a few wins this year and coach Mike Munchak is not pleased the way the season has progressed for them so far. His cause is even more affected by the number of injuries to players at the key positions.
Quarterback Jake Locker has already missed a couple of games with a shoulder injury, while his replacement Matt Hasselbeck is struggling to remain hundred percent on his end.
Munchak has recently backed the team to rebound on the poor performance in first half of the season to hold some chances for making to the playoffs this year, after just falling short of the opportunity a year earlier.
It is pertinent to mention that their division rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, have done rather well this season despite the fact that they had only a pair of wins last season, and their progress has further challenged the Titans’ position and credentials
for the playoffs.
Apparently, the coach does not have clue to what he should do to ensure that the team wins and wins consistently. Except for the change on the offence line, there is no major shuffle in the team. They are the same old unit who impressed the onlookers last
season.
During initial pair of games, the team was criticised by some commentators over their choice of persisting with Locker as their offence leader, but they have tried Hasselbeck in a few games for the same result.
