I have a negative blood type and am wondering......

I have heard that many women miscarry when they didn't even know they were pregnant (and don't even know that they have miscarried). My questions is something along the lines of.... if a women with rh miscarries and doesn't know it, is she fine to go on and have a normal pregnancy? I mean without having to have the shot?

I haven't done a lot of research on this rh stuff.

  1. I think if you miscarry and the doctor finds out your blood type is RH-negative, they will give you the Rhogam shot regardless. If you're TTC you should talk to your doctor, maybe they will give you the shot to help prevent miscarriage if/when you do get pregnant. Good luck!!

  2. from my own experiances i have had 4 miscarrages and have known it and havnt had to have Anti-D needle (am also negative blood AB Negative) and now i have a beautiful 3month old baby boy nice and healthy no problems. (i did have to have a blood transfusion after but he is fine)

  3. i miscarried and the day of my d&c i got the shot

  4. If your RH-  and the father is RH+ you have to have the shot it dosen't matter if it's your first pregnancy (miscarrage) or not . You need to have the shot so that if you have a futuer pregnancy your body dosen't create antibodys to the RH+protine  ( which the baby could be)  and try to kill it.
