  1. People have a right to earn money, and if people makes loads, then that's not being greedy. It's when they do it by ripping off or ruining the lives of others that they are being greedy.

For example, Cadbury's are moving there factory in Kynsham, near Bristol, costing hundreds of jobs, to make chocolate cheap in other countries. They make huge profits, and are definatly being greedy. HP, makers of brown sauce did a similar thing.

  2. A rich person who might be greedy but got his money by working with his sweat and blood deserves his or her money. No matter how greedy as long as he or she did it legally.

  3. Self-made business people should be able to earn as much as possible, without feeling greedy or being thought of as greedy. Had you asked about rich singers though, I'd have said they were greedy. The business guys earn their stuff, but to be honest, singers really should not be payed the ridiculous amounts they are- they're payed more than doctors, people who save people's lives, people who bring new people into the world. They're payed more than fireman, guys who risk there lives to save others. I know the business guys are too sometimes, but they've worked alot harder for it than singers, and probably worked harder at school for it too.

There are many rich guys that give to charities and good causes anyway, and surely that can't be seen as greedy. (I realize singers do this too, but in alot of cases, they get so much publicity for it- you question their motives)

Just to let everybody know, buy guys I do mean people in general, I'm not stereotyping or being sexist.

  4. It depends on the person

  5. We're greedy. You know though, even though I don't give a toss about anyone but myself it does work out for everyone. That's economics.

  6. Depends on lot's of other factors...I tend to admire the self willed people who have made it!

  7. Why do you care??  Most of the times people work extremely hard to get to where they are at!

And then there are people who like to bash them, when they are the same ones not doing anything to better their life!!  Yet they are all up in other people's business!  If someone is rich that is their business!

Don't be jealous, and don't call them GREEDY!

  8. I agree, it's both.

If those not greedy, they tend to help others - many ways and places!

If those greedy, they will just go on and on making and saving their money.

We'll not always reconize who they are.

We can't stop anyone from making money.

Those who don't want to make money is thier decision also.

  9. A lot of rich people are greedy and are never satisfied. Look at Walmart for example. I keep wondering why they feel the need to keep expanding all over the world when they are a multi-billion dollar company already. I don't understand the philosophy.

There are some wealthy people that have earned their money legitimately and not by climbing over everyone else. Some do good things with their money, like Oprah, and I do admire those kind of people. Your other question about when to stop earning money is kind of hard because once you have that much money, you will automatically make tons of money on interest.

So some are to be admired, others not so much. I only have a problem with rich people when they make their money by s******g other people over, like in predatory lending, or drug dealing of course, those types of things.

  10. Neither. If someone is rich that's their business, if someone is poor that's their business too.

  11. depends how you earn it. selling weapons, drugs, cons, S****y fast food a good American way, but not to others. depends on your school of thought

  12. Boring answer here, I'm afraid. It's a case-by-case basis. Some self-made business people earn lots of money because they are very hardworking, and treat people well, whilst bringing something new to an area that already exists. Others, not so much. Of course, some people change once they have come into the money.

Also, once you've accumulated a lot of money, it becomes a lot easier to earn even more money, so a lot of rich people don't tend to stop earning. I suppose this works as an incentive to earn money in the first place, but in reality, only stops people with little money from earning the money they deserve. Like those in the nursing profession for instance.

  13. I think that people who have the talent and the drive and determination to be a success should be allowed to keep the rewards of their efforts.  And there should be no limit to how much that they earn.  These are the people that create new jobs and opportunities for those that don't or won't be innovators and entrepreneurs.  Without them, economies stagnate.

The only exceptions to this should be that what they do should be legal and moral, and they shouldn't interfere with other people's ability or opportunity to do so.  A crime boss or drug dealer should be sentenced to hard labor for years.  A person who deliberately sets up a monopoly and squeezed competitors out of the market should also be punished.
