Yes - and they will quote his one liners for a long time. He maintained a dry sense of humor even when things didn't work out. Heres a quote I heard the other day from when he coached NSW.

"NSW were in this game right up until the national anthem finished."

Too bad the bloody crowd didn't show any respect in the minute silence, Wat a bunch of losers, hardly any one there and they still couldn't shut up, we get all these hero's coming into the Aussie rules section stirring up $hit about our game, but we can have 100,000 people at a game and when it's time to shut up, we do, that was a disgrace tonight binga, fair dinkum, i would of thrown those mongrels out, couldn't even show  a bit of respect for one minute, to a man like jack gibson, he got the most out of the Aussie teams every time.
