Ok today we had a fight about this a guy had a mission at risk that was "conquer 1 territory in 5 continents" he already was controlling 3 continents so he wasn't able to "conquer" 5 because there where only 3 left...

So the question is...is very important because is very different to "control" than to "conquer"

if he had that mission he will only have to "conquer" 2 more territories in each continent OR he wouldn't be able to complete the mission because he wouldn't be conquering but controling?

please tell me! we almost kill each other for this...

because for example if a mission says conquer 12 territories you have to conquer them in that turn and the territories you already own don't count that's why we had this doubt

THANKS A LOT! HAVE A NICE DAY!

  1. Mission cards are passed out before the game begins, and must be satisfied for the player to achieve immediate victory.  Unless he began the game in control of all 3 continents, which seems highly unlikely, he would have had to have conquered at least one territory in each of them.

From the way you've described the situation, the player with the mission card in dispute would only have to conquer one more territory in 2 additional continents in order to achieve victory.

    Happy gaming!

  2. I guess I have an older version of RISK which has missions that say occupy territories instead of conquer or control.  Control would be easy, one guy can control but to conquer would require more in my opinion.  I'd say you need to agree BEFORE the game starts what qualifies as conquer.

  3. do world domination
