Question:

RISK game question....?

What a hard game to learn! My questions are:

What happens when you attack a territory that has only 1 unit? The directions say that you must leave 1 unit in a territory so it is occupied. So does this mean you cannot attack another players territory that only has 1 unit?

My other question is....

After a combat, can the defender also fortify his territories, or just the "Attacker"?

  1. When you are attacking another territory you attack with maximum 3 units but you can only attack with max 1 less unit than you have so basically if you have....

1 unit on a territory, you cannot attack an opponent

2 units on a territory, you can attack with 1 unit

3 units on a territory, you can attack with 1 or 2 units

4+ units on a territory, you can attack with 1, 2 or 3 units

When you opponent has only 1 unit you may attack them because the 1 unit rule is only for the attacker not the defender. After combat the defneder cannot fortify his territories, only the attacker and that is the last phase oh his or her turn before receiving a territory card. (If you conquered a territory that turn)

  2. you can attack a territory if there is only one block in it.

if you win then you win the territory. it is now urs not the other players.

after combat only the player whos thurn it is can readjust their armies.

    hope that helps

  3. You can attack any enemy territory, as long as you have at least TWO armies in the attacking territory (so you can leave one behind when you move one in after winning).

As far as your other question: Just the attacker.

Keep playing - it might seem hard, but try to have fun!

  4. The whole leaving 1 unit in a territory is to prevent you from just taking your whole army and going territory to territory. You can attack any territory you are connected to, no matter how many units are there. If you are successful you must move at least as many units as dice you rolled in the last battle and you must leave at least one unit in the territory you attacked from. Example, I attack you from a territory where I have 5 units and you have 1. I roll 3 dice and you only roll 1. If I win, your unit is removed and I must move at least 3 units but no more then 4 (5 minus 1 that was left behind) into my newly acquired territory. Also the defender cannot fortify.
