save your cards until when the armies you get is high and always try to get one continent at a time, but starting with austrailia or south america.

The most played strategy is to own Australia and defend it from the southeast asian corner.. thus providing you with 2 bonus armies every turn. Another common strategy is to own South America.. which is a little more difficult to defend as it has 2 borders.. thereby dividing your force/resources.

If you focus more on conquering one territory a turn (or 2) with a strong force.. as opposed to conquering many a territory and spreading yourself thin.. you'll be afforded more of an opportunity to mount a large scale attack.

Hold onto your sets of cards until forced to trade.. because the more sets traded results in the more armies available for the next to trade.
