RIU's Puerto Plata???

Question

Hi, me again for those of you who answer here ofter...lol Happy Feet! anyways...leaving on Friday for the RIU Merengue and just wondering if the electrical outlets are the same as in Canada. if I cant plug in my flat iron for my hair I'll probably have a stroke. do I need to get an adaptor or something? I would rather have it and possibly not need it then not be able to plug things in. if anyone knows for sure that they are the same though, I wont bother to get one. any help would be great!
