RIveria Maya mexico.`?

Question

Im going to riveria maya the resort this summer with my family..does anyone know what the town is like over there. Like the stores and stuff over there cuz we are going there. like what do they sell in the stores..is it nice?

Riviera Maya is not a town is a strip running down the Yucatan Peninsula by the sea.  Yes, there are fun things to buy.  However, the point of going there is the fabulous sea, Mayan ruins, natural pools, etc.  Go to rivieramaya.com so you learn about what you can expect.

well the Rivera maya has many towns, including Cancun. Do u know which place you´re going to? Once u know please let us know..

the maya rivera is actually the name given to the coast south of cancun all the way to the town/archeological site of tulum. it consists of several towns and resorts...puerto morelos, playa de carmen (jumping off point to cozumel), tulum, etc... and several great beaches, such as akumal and tankah. if you are staying at one of the resorts along the maya riviera, they are almost cities themselves. if you are not the adventerous type, you may not want to leave the resort...but if you wanna go out and see things you will need a ride into one of the towns. the towns themselves are small with not a lot to offer other than the beach and tourist trinkets but cool stuff can be found but remember, you gotta carry it all back! you can find anything from loose semi-precious stones to hammocks and clothes. but, get off the beaten path and you will have a better time and find better/unique stuff. easy to navigate with signs posted, hwy 307 is safe. i recommend a rental car for a couple days to explore areas not practical to go by taxi or catch a bus.
