Reports from Mandemakers Stadion confirm that RKC Waalwijk have announced Erwin Koeman as their new head coach, who will take over the managerial hot seat from Ruud Brood before the start of the 2012/13 season.
Brood, who has been leading RKC successfully since the summer of 2008, will join Roda JC Kerkrade at the end of the ongoing campaign. The Waalwijk outfit management saw the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 boss as a perfect candidate to lead their side and
lured him to Mandemakers Stadion on a two-year deal.
Koeman, who earlier coached the Waalwijk outfit in the 2004/05 season, was pleased to sign the contract and revealed that he knows the club well.
“I know the club, I have worked there before. The management and the people who work there know what they want, they are very clear. RKC is a warm and friendly club and that is important for me”, Koeman was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The RKC general manager, Joost de Wit, was also delighted after securing the services of the former Hungarian National team coach and insisted that the 50-year-old tactician fits perfectly at RKC.
“We chose an established name who can make talented players better. He is a top coach who fits in well with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370. He is a person who can deal with pressure and is not easily put out of his stride”, De Wit said while talking to the media.
After winning the Eerste Divisie title at the end of the 2010/11 season, RKC earned automatic promotion to the highest echelons of Dutch football.
