Question:

RLS in more than just the legs?

When I try to sleep it hits more than the legs.It feels like I'm plugged into an electrical socket and is painful.Heat makes it worse.Anyone with simular problem?How did you handle it?

  1. Exercise keeps my RLS in check.  Squats, lunges, and biking are the best. Intensity of walking is so low that it is not as effective, but sure better than no activity.

    I would try exercising any part of the body that is effected.  There are RLS support groups which could be very helpful. Start looking here http://www.rls.org

    Heat doesn't help me either.  

    My Mother took a pill (sorry, I can't remember what) to moderate her RLS, but it was physically addictive. When she ran out, she was a wreck!  

    Personally, I would be very cautious about taking any meds for RLS, because the ones I've read about play with your brain chemistry.  Who knows the long term effects of that?   That's not worth the risk, if exercise alone helps enough.
