Is it possible to obtain an RN with a 2 year college degree? If so, would you make the same salary as an RN with a bachelor's degree?

  1. Yes there are associate degree RNs and bachelor degree RNs (BSNs)

BSNs have the opportunity to make a lot more money and become more like a manager and you can easily go back into a masters program to become specialized and make a lot more money such as a nurse practitioner, midwife, or even nurse anesthetist (They make a very high salary).

  2. I am a 2yr degree RN and I make 35.00/hour. The 4 yr is used more for managerial positions....2yr or 4yr, you take the same state board exam.

  3. Yes, there are Associate programs in nursing.  However, they take a little longer than the usual 2 years to complete.  As far as money goes, where I work there is no difference between the pay of an ADN and a BSN.  However, some larger, research/teaching facilities are beginning to only hire BSNs.
