RN vs. doctor?

If I want a life would being an RN be better than becoming a doctor and why?

  1. Both careers demand commitment and personal sacrifice. Still, you have options as to what area of medicine or nursing you want to work in. Some are less demanding.

    I think the majority of us in senior positions feel that someone entering the profession needs to pay his/her dues with hard work to become a good physician or a good nurse. It's not a field where the good life is handed to you on a silver platter.


  2. I am a nurse and I have no regret of choosing this career.

    1. Takes only 4 years to complete the BSN program. Physician takes at least 12 years.

    2. I can spend time with my family.

    3. I had a part-time job while I was studying. Some of my colleague had a full-time job while studying. (It is doable but totally insane.)

    4. School work is not as brutal as those in medicine.

    5. I can choose when to work (most of the time).

    6. Have more interaction with patients.
