1) Compare and contrast tRNA and MRNA

2) Where must an mRNA attach before protein production can begin?

3) How many bases are needed to specific an mRNA codon?

4) If a strand of mRNA contains the sequence

U-A-G-G-U-A-U-C-A-A-A-U

5) How does mRNA get out of the nucleus?

6) What is the difference between an amino acid and a protein?

7) Describe the structure of a ribosome.

8) How many possible combinations of bases could there be on an anticodon? Why?

Thank you in advance!

  1. 1.  tRNA attach to amino acids and bring them to ribosomes.  mRNA holds instructions on what order the amino acids go in.

    2.  Ribosomes

    3.  3

    4.  Be more specific.  If you mean what the tRNA's will be it is     A-U-C  C-A-U  A-G-U  U-U-A.  You can find charts that show what anticodons bond to which amino acids.

    5.  The nuclear pores.

    6.  Amino acids make up proteins.  Amino acids are the monomers of proteins.

    7.  They are small structures located in the cytosol and the rough endoplasmic reticulum.  Made of 65% ribosomal RNA and 35% ribosomal proteins.  They consist of 2 parts.

    8.  ?  64.  If i'm reading the question right.  The order of them does matter
