ARG I feel so PISSED OFF right now, I was so STUPID to go back with Rogers services. It all started a year and half ago, I have everything with Rogers, Internet, Cable and Wirless. When the home phone came out, they called us and give us this deal. The first 3 months free and with rogers bundle, there like 5% off on the wireless, internet and etc. So I went with it, and next few weeks some techician came to installed the the service. When my first bill came out it was atleast $600! On the bill it have bunch of costs one of it was a $75 charge for a Phone box they install, and $25 each for more than 2 television sets and bunch of other things. I complained and left all my Rogers services.

About 2 months ago, a representative from Rogers call and give us a promotion for $10 per month service for the first year and there's no contract. (They called every once in a while to join them) I discussed with my mom about it, and we went with it. A techician was to come in 2 weeks after, but because we went to NYC and missed. They called us again to set up another time to come. Then 2 more weeks later, they were supposed to show up from 8am to 11am. I was waiting for them to show up and I was supposed to meet my friend. But I waited till 12pm and I called them to help my service cancel because I don't want it anymore. I talked to SEVEN different representatives within the call length of an HOUR and HALF. They kept sending me to around. I was so PISSED OFF. For the last representative, I explained the reason why I am canceling my service with Rogers and the reason why I HATE Rogers, He asked me anyways. Therefore, he offerred a deal of 50 CENTS per month service for the first 6 months. I talk to him for about more than 15 minutes. I ask him if there's contract, OTHER FEES and he said NO. So I agreed and went with it.

I had mistaken the actual date for the second appointment, it was set to be the next day. By the time I realized, the call already ended.

The second day, the guy showed up and installed the connections.

The line I had was basic, with NO features. My mom told me to add a feature for the caller-ID. I called them again and Ask for the price of the Caller-ID alone. She told me it was $4 dollars.

Today, my mom showed me the billed. The total is $111.17

Connection Fee - $65

Basic Line+1 - $29.95 + 4.39

CallerID - $3.99

System Access FEE - 5.95 + 1.19

Long Distance - 3.55

I called in this morning and ask what happened and told them what the representative gave me before. The manager is like "There's no Note stated on it" so she's not going to do anything about it.

Now I have no idea what to do, I can't bellieve I fell for one of Rogers traps again. AHHH

Help me, what should I do?

  1. I have heard it said that hitting your head against a wall is not a good idea, but it feels good when you stop.

That may be true, but is it truly  a good and valid reason to go back to bashing your head against the same wall?

You did not "fall for one of Roger's traps again"...you did not think it through.

From what you described, you make mistakes, but learn nothing from them, so you repeat the same mistake, and again learn nothing.

When you reach the third repetition of the problem, which you have done,  it is no longer a mistake, you are just not bothering to think.

At the moment it looks like no matter what anyone here may tell you, you will crash out with Rogers, and then go right back to Rogers,   again.

Ir probably will not matter which company you go to, because as long as you fail to take the steps necessary to protect yourself, you will continue along the same path.

My only advice is that you start thinking, .....a lot.

Then develop a habit of doing it all day, every day.

After that, get proposals in writing and then take the time necessary to thoroughly understand them.  If they are not  in writing, OR if no time is permitted for thorough scrutiny of the print,  then refuse the offer,  and RUN away.
