  1. i only saw the first part of the video i would say just pull back faster and get farther away from the roping dummy

  2. Is your name Frankie? Just asking.

And I thought you did great, now show us some off of your roper ;D

  3. You look like your in too much of a hurry an not following through with your arm. You walking up to close to your roping dummy. Unless you have a really fast horse or really slow roping cattle you won't ever be that close, so your going to have to learn to really throw out there farther. You look like your on the right track, keep practicing and most of all remember to have fun!

  4. I think you forgot your horse... cute dog though.

  5. Ok here we go.

    1st

You don't have enough bend in your elbow, there isn't enough rotation over your head. The best way is to get your cowboy hat on so, and swing the rope and make sure that it clears the brim.

    2. Your hand is too close to the honda. The distance you want from the honda is about 1/3 or your loop. This will also keep you loop open.

    3. When you cast. Throw the rope just like a baseball(or in your case a softball). When you trow the rope right your index and middle finger should be pointing right at your target.

    4. Be sure when you pull your slack that you pull down and close to your right leg.

    5. Your elbow is dropping, and your side arming your throw.

Thats all I saw in that video, its hard to realy get indepth on a short video.

For practice I would switch that steer for a road cone(they are easier to pick up at night. haha). The reason for this is so you don't have to walk up to the dummy every time you throw. When you pull you slack the rope pops off and comes to you. Saves time(cowboys are natualy lazy. haha).

I would start off making 25 catches in a row, if you miss you have to start over. When you get that down move to 50 catches, and so on. This is a practice that I had to do every day from the ages 4-15. Everybody in my family has to be able to rope. Even now when my pop, brother and I get together we stand around roping the road cone.

    Good luck
