RPG in which you impersonate a god/deity?

I'm looking for the title of a Pen-and-paper RPG in which you impersonate a god/goddess/deity.

IIRC it has a white cover...

Was it a fantasy/medieval period setting or a modern sci fi type game?

I can think of several alternatives that may fit the bill & have come out under several releases over time, so 1 version of the rules may have been white but not all.

Runequest started low but eventually made it to heroquesting level where you became minor god equivalent in time.

I found this site which claims to be "the list of all Role-Playing Games ever published " maybe if you scan through that a name will ring a bell
