RSC Anderlecht tie down Behrang Safari with a three-year deal - Belgium Pro League News
Former FC Basel winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394, on a three-year deal. The versatile player was earlier reported to be in contact with the club but could not resolve the salary issues in the first attempt.
He was then contacted again by Anderlecht officials and the matter was eventually resolved, much to the delight of the player and Paars-wit officials.
Anderlecht finished atop the table this season and the officials hoped that Behrang’s inclusion would strengthen the side. The club’s President was hoping for his side to retain their champions crown next season and assured the fans of some new faces that
would become a part of the already impressive squad.
Manager, Ariel Jacobs, was also pleased with the inclusion of the 26-year-old and hinted towards giving the defender a regular place in the starting line-up. He also mentioned that Safari had an impressive spell at Basel and hailed the officials for putting

Safari started his senior career with the Swedish side, Malmo FF, in 2004 and spent four years with the Sky Blues. During that time, the winger made 59 league appearances, netting in two goals during the process. The 26-year-old, then, made his way to FC
Basel in 2008 and appeared 94 times during his three-year stay at the club. He bagged one goal during the process. Safari has 17 international appearances under his belt for the Swedish national side since making his debut in 2008.
He twice won the Swiss Super League with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079 (2010, 2011) and also clinched the Swiss Cup once in 2010.
Anderlecht’s General Manager, Herman Van Holsbeeck, added, "Behrang Safari is an asset for RSCA. His experience is important for many young players from the RSCA first team. Safari is the first of the various fortifications that the club has in mind."
He wished Safari all the very best for the future with Belgian outfit. He was delighted with the fact that the 26-year-old has the tendency of adapting to both attacking and defensive roles. He also reckoned that Safari could be a massive hit in Belgium.
