Try testing attitudes to education, politics, poverty, war and peace, marriage, electronics, exercise, obesity, health and life in general.

Sociology is such a vast topic there are so many worthwhile topics and attitudes to research.

Personally I did homelessness, which was huge and had so many methods and took so much time as it was both qualitative and quantitative with difficult methodology but was well worth the effort.

Which areas of sociology do you already find interesting?  Which authors' work did you read and think hmmm... now how about... x, y z.  It's really important that you're interested in your topic if it's a research project (lots of work coming up!!) and it helps if you have some sort of conceptual ideas on what you might look at.
