  1. 6+7=13 still you would have lost. so that try that never was would not have helped. Sorry better luck next time.

  2. 6 + 7 = 13 + momentum swinging the way of the English and a how's your father = 19 -15 to England.

Seems like there was enough doubt in the TMO's mind, where was the benefit?

  3. It was a try. His foot was raised when he touched the ball down. Countless television replays prove this.

But hey ho, we have to live with it, like Maradona's hand ball in 1986.

  4. Oooooh yes it was

  5. No try. Never was, sorry England.

Look at this picture and read the discussion:

  6. true it was not a try, a part of his leg was on the line=out

  7. Now you Poms know how we feel about the reffing in our Quarter Final. Yes the French played out of their skins that day, and they needed to to beat us, and yes Carter and Evans going down injured late in the match and the non selection of Howlet didn't help either, but the appalling reffing was defiantly a factor.

  8. It was not a try for the simple fact that the referee said it wasn't, and the referee in rugby is the sole arbiter of fact on the pitch.  All of the England team accepted that and all true rugby supporters do too.

That's not to say we agree with the ref or 4th official, but that's a separate issue.

As for being unlucky; we've been talked down for the last 4 years, and written off after the first two games of the tournament, but who was there in the final?  New Zealand?  No.  Australia?  No.  Ireland?  No.  France?  No.  They are  the unlucky ones, because their players didn't even have the chance of winning the final match.

By God, and Saint George, I'd have counted myself lucky if I could have lined up with the England team on Saturday.

  9. The English try should have counted. The player's leg when over the line but he lifted his leg before his place the ball on the floor. The RWC was fix to South Africa because they didn't want England to be the first country in the history of the game to defend the title.

  10. From the pictures on the TV it was a try, but hey ! that's sport

for you. We'll all get over it.

  11. I fully except it was not a try... his foot was over the line before he touched the try line.

I still think we did well to get this far. And we were only beat by 6-15, a respectable defeat i say. And hey! we were runners up and that's good enough for most!

England still did us proud anyway!

    Congrats to SA =)

  12. Nope, no try!

It does't matter how many times the question is asked it was still not a try.

Losers in a final are generally unlucky. It's where they find solace.

  13. For once & for all, it was not a try. Look!
