Rabbit: Chews it's cage?

Question

Hi everyone, I have a dwarf rabbit called Max, who is teething at the moment, I have given him chew toys (blocks of wood, chew sticks, treats he can chew, special balls he can chew on and play with) he does use them for a while but then he gets bored of them. He has started to chew his cage and it's pretty bad. I've tried spraying it with special chew stopper for rabbits and rodents but it doesn't work. Does anyone have any other ideas of what I could use to stop him chewing his cage, or he's going to escape one of these days! Thanks everyone!

p.s I try to change the toys now and again so he doesn't get bored, but he still chooses to chew his cage. Do you think nailing a bit of wood onto the doors to stop him chewing the actual cage would work?!

chewing the cage will not hurt him, they all do that

Rabbits are like rodents in this way; they have to gnaw a lot to keep their teeth in good condition.  

I gather the cage is plastic or wood; a cage with metal bars will hold up to the gnawing.  

So, if you can't convince him not tp gnaw the cage, you need to get him a cage he can't damage.  Putting metal of some kind over the vulnerable parts may work for you.  You can use metal screen/hardware cloth, or pieces of metal cans, carefully cut and the edges covered so nobody gets cut; or whatever you can think of.

But most cages made for rabbits are metal, or at least the parts the rabbit can get at with its teeth.

Maybe he is so bored that games are just pointless to him.

Get him a body collar and let him go for a walk outside the cage to keep him active and less upset.

My rabbit does that so i would not worrie, i gave my rabbit a bit a card bored and now it chews that but i would be carefull it makes a MESS!
