  1. My daughter has a rabbit.

Carrots, Celery, Apple Slices, Mineral Wheel, Rabbit Pellets, Timothy Hay. Small, Plain Cardboard Boxes with no writing.Water.

They will scratch you no matter what. They scratch every time you hold them. Do not put your rabbit in a hutch, put it in a pen so it  can hop around.

About lettuce.. It will NOT repeat NOT kill them  my daughters rabbit eats Packaged Lettuce Leaves all the time he loves it and he is healthy

  2. i had at one point 6 rabbits and now have 2(long story) okay thay live verry long and eat just about anything. any fruits or veggies, rabbit food, gerbil food, anything. also my rabbits like tomatoes so we will give them some and they look so cute with a red mouth. i had a dwarf and he was very friendly. my friend has a 2 rabbits that dont get along so she has 2 cages and lets 1 out at a time and roam around in herr backyard(screened in of course) another treat thayy like is salt && pepper sticks. (ask a pet store) hope it helppsss!!!!

p.s. u will love them, calm, gentle and adorable

  3. they eat mostly fruits and veggies with plenty of hay. they can also be fed some pellets, but not as a substitute. Dwarf rabbits can live 6-10 years, sometimes longer. rabbits love to hop around on grass, chew, and be cuddled. make sure you have the bunny's nails clipped ever once in a while to avoid injury if it scratches you. make sure you cuddle and play with the bunny and they will be happy. :)

  4. i've never had a rabit be4 but i know what to feed them. you usually feed a rabit stuff like letice, carrots and grass. in other words vegies. they will also eat hay and rabbit pellets so they can get a balance diet. rabbits do need a large cage and iv'e herd that rabbits like to chew stuff. so when u get a rabbit, chew toys will come in handny. to prevent from being scratched u should wear a shirt with long sleves and some jeans

  5. rabbits eat rabbit pellets and timithoy hay... life span 5-8 years i was told but possibly longer, my dwarf loves to explore and run around and go behind EVERYTHING  and dont wear tank tops when holding him/her i get tons of scratches when i do. and keep its nails clipped. hope this helps have fun.. of and they like to tear up rugs and biting them so becareful. and they like chewing on wires watchout fo that too. good luck

  6. I have a rabbit. They eat rabbit food carrots they cant have lettuce i read that it will kill them. umm more but i forgot. They like to run around excersie play with you play with toys eat wodd and stuff. They might live longer mine lived for a while. You cant unless hyou cut the bunnys nails off. Play with him give him a big cage like a farrets cage they need space. Pleay with it feed it give it toys keep it warm. Ect. Have fun get a ntherland dwarf they are so cute.

(The rabbit should have a continuous supply of Timmothy Hay, 1/3 cups of pellets daily, about 3-5 fruits and vegetables daily (or 1 1/2 cups of fruits and veggies)

Rabbits live about 10 years if healthy her entire life.

This is what Netherland Dwarf hamsters need/do.

You need to buy a hutch that has an enclosed sleeping area. I would avoid plastic, because rabbits chew and I'm scared that the rabbit my chew the plastic and swallow some. Inside you need to place Timmothy Hay from a pet store .

The cage should be a wired mesh so the rabbit can have fresh air. (no wired bottoms though.)

Buy a large cage. Rabbits like to jump.

Make sure the cage is in a quiet, out of sunlight area.

Don't ever use cedar or pine bedding for your rabbit.

    rabbits.

Rabbits have claws, if you get scratched by your rabbit, it will hopefully be an accident. If she does it on purpose then you should say NO. If the accidental scratching gets so out of hand, you should get an old towel and put it on your arm when you are holding your bunny.

Give your bunny love, fruits and vegetables, huts, NO cedar or pine bedding, a metal or plastic bottom with a wire mesh for the rest, rabbit pellets, and rabbit toys for her to be happy.

  11. I love rabbit questions.  I am an expert.  I have a Netherland Dwarf who just became a papa.  The mama is a French Lop.  She had seven babies.  Netherlands are great.  They are really friendly.  They are the smallest of the rabbit breeds.  They eat rabbit pellets and should have timothy hay daily.  Don't give them alfalfa more than occasionally because it will get fat.  Make sure that fresh water is always available and put liquid vitamins in it.  For a treat my rabbit love kale but just a few times a week because if you give them fruits or veggies more often they will get diarrhea.  Yes, a Netherland can live up to 12 years.  Their nails are really sharp.  You can cut their nails.  I have done it many times.  Put the bunny on his back on your lap and stroke his belly to make him feel say.  Get a special clipper for rabbits.  There will be a white part of the nail that you clip.  If you go too high up on the nail it will bleed.  Interact with your bunny daily.  You have gotten yourself a great pet.  I have had my bunny for a year and I hope that I have many more years with him.

  12. 1. Rabbits need to eat a healthy variety of veggies every day, along with some timothy-based pellets and hay. A rabbit weighing 2-4 pounds should only get about 1/8 cup of pellets a day. They pellets should be high-fiber (18%), low-fat (1-2%), low-calcium, low-protein. The pellets should not be mixed with seeds, nuts, or dried veggies.

The best hay is Timothy hay. Orchard grass is also acceptable, but it's usually seasonal. Alfalfa is fine for babies, but not adults. Coastal is totally unacceptable.

Veggies are also very important. Bunnies should get about a cup of veggies per pound of body weight every day. There should be at least 8 different kinds of veggies in their diet, 3 of which should be fed every day. Mix it up for good variety. Romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, endive, parsley, cilantro, peppermint leaves, carrot tops, beet tops, radish tops, celery and broccoli are great. Kale and spinach are good in limited amounts (like once a week).

Only feed fruits as a treat. Pear, apple, banana, papaya, melon, raisins, etc. You can also give whole grains like oats or barley. Try to keep the treats down. Dwarf buns get fat really easily.

    2. The dwarf rabbit lifespan is about 7-10 years. It varies a lot depending on how they are kept.

    3. Rabbits like to play with toys, chew up things, eat hay, and play outside. You can get a playpen so they can be safe outdoors. Some bunnies also like to hang out with out and watch TV. I used to have a Jersey Woolie who would lay on my chest during a whole movie. Some even enjoy going on walks.

    4. To prevent scratching, just keep your bunnies nails trimmed. You can even file them with a nail file so they are rounded at the ends. You should get him used to this now so it doesn't stress him out in the future.

Another concern with dwarf rabbits is their teeth. They are very prone to malocclusion. You should take him in to the vet every year to have his teeth checked, or any time you notice him not eating as much as he should be. Or if he stops grooming properly.

  13. http://www.fuzzy-rabbit.com/

This site can tell you information about food, housing, vet care and how long they live.

I heard they can live on average 10 years. They need hay 24/7 to wear their teeth down and for fiber.

Pellets need to be timothy based, should be first ingredient. Oxbow is a good brand. http://www.oxbowhay.com/Shop/showProduct...

I built mine an NIC cage, neat idea cage, out of grids, choroplast, and zipties. www.guineapigcages.com uses the same grids as an nic cage and can tell you where to get the grids and choroplast.

My rabbits love veggies especially lettuce, red leaf, romaine, spring mix, etc.

I dont know what gender your rabbit is, but I recommend getting the opposite gender if you decide you want another rabbit, and always adopt. Petfinder.com can help with adopting.
