  1. Even though the foam is kind of water-resistant, I'd worry about moisture building up.  I'd also worry that the rabbit would chew at it; believe me, they'll get ahold of anything if they want to chew it.  Vinyl tile isn't a bad idea, and I'd definitely use wood under it if you're going to, but remember that its a pain in the butt to clean out a cage like that, and the p**p will roll around and out of the cage onto your floor (if its indoor).  I prefer to put a slab of wood for them to sit on in a wire cage and change the dropping pan.  I find it to be more hygenic.

  2. Like Foam-core board?  I probably wouldn't go with the foam, it's pretty tempting as far as texture to a rabbit looking for a nibble and probably contains lots of chemicals.  Coroplast (a harder plastic sign material) is safe around small furries and would probably work just fine.  Many sign shops will have remnants they will sell cheap or even give you free.  However, an untreated piece of wood is probably best, most home improvement or lumber stores now will cut it to size for you if you don't have a saw to do it with at home.

Add: You'd be surprised, rabbits will pull up the edges of the vinyl and nibble on what's underneath a lot of times, as well as, if there is an exposed edge they will chew on it.

  3. Rabbits can chew through a lot of different things so maybe vinyl is not a good idea.
