My rabbit isn't eating and she will not open her mouth. What should I do? I called the vet, but I got a voicemail saying he was on vacation for 3 weeks.

  1. it sounds to me like she has a hairball like cats get but they cant cough it up.  The only way it can be removed is surgically. my rabbit had a hairball and i didnt figure it out til it was too late and i dont want that to happen to you so find another vet and get that hairball removed no matter what it takes.HURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hope she will be ok.

  2. Get the yellow pages and find another vet

  3. Rabbits can eat almost any kind of fruit, try peaches or strawberries. My rabbit really likes sweet banana (the very skinny tall kind). If that doesn't work, go to a petshop they should know almost as much as vets.

For at like 1 whole day try being right by her side with different kind of things she can eat that is not bad for her. Including Sweet Fruits, grass, and some broccoli. She might also be unhappy, get her out of where she is and let her run around a little, maybe on top of a bed or in floor with nothing dangerous near by, she'll start out shy first but later end up jumping and running, that will make her happy and hopefully get an appetite. Leave all kinds of foods you got for her in a circle or in each edge for her to pick out her own. Keep her away from other animals while this happens, animals such as cats, dogs or even birds can get shocked or excited to see such movement.

My very best wishes for you, I hope she gets well.

  4. find another vet or just put mashed up food mixed with water in a dropper and squeeze the dropper into its mouth

  5. Find another rabbit savvy vet ASAP.
