Rabbit with Head tilt??

Alright- [just giving a little background detail hoping this might help] A few weeks ago we got a kitten. Of course- that kitten occupied most of our attention so my rabbit didn't get out as much as he should have. Now to the problem- today I decided to get my rabbit out and let him run as much as he wanted! First I put him in a secured room, which I didn't know the Kitten was in. My rabbit, however, is very used to cats as we have 2 of our own with whom he regularly snuggles with. The kitten ran with him a little bit, before I decided to take him out- just in case. When I picked him up he performed one of his 'fits' when he doesn't want to leave somewhere. This includes thrashing and clawing until I put him down. I did and he still seemed fine. I had to go do some school- so I gave him to my brother to exercise. 5 minutes later, he come running up yelling at my to look at my rabbit. I go in and my rabbit is tilting his head rapidly to the left and back. When he let go of him he would hop in circles to the left. I looked up head tilt and I know what it is, but considering these situations what do you think might be the cause? I checked his ear for an ear infection and couldn't find anything, but then again I'm not a vet.

Before I get millions of answers saying- "TAKE HIM TO THE VET ASAP!!!!!" I -am- taking him to vet as soon as possible, I just would still like to hear your ideas on this.

  1. Here's a website with possible causes of a head tilt - http://www.rabbit.org/health/tilt.html

It could be minor or serious.  Make sure you do take him to the vet because treatment is very important.  Good luck!
