Rabbits and Squirrels in the garden,,?

We just recently planted a garden in our front yard and no matter what we try they eat our plants/flowers...any ideas to keep them out?

  1. It sounds gross, but one of the more effective animal deterrents is human urine.  And, you have to keep re-applying it.

    I have also heard that scattering human hair in the area works, and also deodorant, etc.


  2. I'm not sure if this will work with your rabbits and squirrels, but it worked for pigeons.  Saturate paper towels with WD-40 and put it around and in your garden.  They hate the smell.  I've also read that cayenne peper sprinkled on the ground is a good deterrent.  You have to renew either after it rains or you water.

  4. The best method of keeping them out is using a Humane Kill Trap.  The best trap for Squirrels is the Kania Trap 2000

    It is effective, species specific, safe to set and produces a humane instant kill every time.
