  1. What situation are you thinking of where it would run away? A rabbit would be happiest living in the house with your family, not outside, so it can't really run away that way, unless you leave it out and with the doors open. You can take bunnies for walks on leashes and as long as the leash fits you shouldn't lose it. Mainly, your rabbit should love you and see you as a friend, so it should never WANT to escape from you.

Please read through rabbit.org for information on caring for rabbits. Make sure that your family can handle keeping a rabbit, they are a lot of responsibility and work.

  2. No you can't they go where they want

  3. No rabbits go where ever they want. If you let them out they will run away.

  4. yes they will, im sorry,

my cousin had a bbeautiful rabbit that was enclosed in the backyard but one day it ran away...they soon found it on the road...as  flat as a pancake

try guinea pigs...as longa s u feed them right and give them a good home they wouldnt run away

min go to the neighbours house to steal some grass and come back by dusk

  5. firstly rabbits all have different personalites and are a lot of hard work.

costs... rabbit acommodation if indoors should be a 48inch dog crate with attatched run or rabbit proofed room..

outdoors a 6x3x2ft hutch with attatched 6x6ft run.

neutering a rabbit this is between 50-100 but males are slighlty cheaper. this makes rabbtis more freindly as not hormonal stops them spraying weee allows you to litter train them reduces digging and chewing and allows them to be in pairs which they are happier in.  this also stops uterine cancer in females which kills 85% of over 3year old. remeber rabbits live between 9 and 14 years.

rabbit vaccs are around 15-20 pounds they will each need 3 a year 2 myx and 1 vhd.  you will need to rear gaurd your buns to prevent flystrike which is aroudn £20 per bottle.

food 85%of diet should be hay for a rabbit if you buy this from a farm it will be better quality and cheaper aroudn £6 for a large bale..also pelleted food is better for rabbits so something like excel or science selective is ideal anythign with fibre content of over 16% which stops selective feeding is good.the higher the fibre the better.

next rabbit toys a tunnel cardbord boxes and some toss toys to entertain your bunny.

onto lifestlye. rabbits need as much excersise as a small dog so 4hours minimum time in a run is essential.  all hutches should allow oyur rabbit 3-4 hops accross fully stand upright on back legs...and to spread out in depth.  rabbits are prey animals and do not like being picked up but they will come to you if you sit on the floor quietly and hop onto your lap for food they love to be stroked/.

get a rabbit from a rescue this is good as it saves you bonding 2 buns adn you can see the size they grow into and will only payaround 30 pounds which includes their nueters and their vaccs for first year saving you a lot of stress hassel and money.

for a list of local rescues see rabbit rehome...

for more info on rabbit keeping.... see rabbits united and or the house rabbit society.
