Question:

Rabies from a Crow?

I was with my friend and we were hungry so we went outside our church, (they have snacks outside), to get some donut-holes, and there was a crow eating the donut-holes, but it flew away with one in it's mouth, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get any gross donut-holes.

I'm really stupid for grabbing one, but I seriously didn't mean to.

So what can I get from that, (if it touched one that I ate), and is it possi.ble to get 'rabies'?

What should I do if I have them?

I'm really scared.

This happened yesterday.

  1. i don't think crows get rabies hun;

  2. you wont get rabies. you'll be fine, dont worry

Birds, fish, insects, lizards, snakes and turtles never get rabies. its basically just a mammal thing

  3. Birds don't carry rabies - only mammals.

  4. **birds don't have rabies**

  5. No. Rabies has never been found in wild birds. The greatest risk is that it was pecking something disgusting before it got into the box, and you'd have gotten sick by now if it had.

Don't go eating raw crows, or anything, but odds are you're fine.

  6. Birds do not carry rabies..this is a disease specifically carried by MAMMALS.  Also, you get WNV from mosquitoes, not birds.  It is not transmittable from birds to humans.  There are not many disease that are transferable between birds and humans..most diseases are species specific, and can only be passed from bird to bird, human to human, etc.  Rabies is one of the few that can cross species..but once again it does not affect birds.  There have been no documented cases in history of a bird being diagnosed with rabies. Also, rabies would have to get into your blood stream..usually you have to be bitten badly where the bite breaks you skin.   I work with wild birds and handle them regularly and sometimes forget to even wash my hands or don't have access to water out in the bush, then eat lunch...been doing this for 10 years now..and I am still around.  I think you are being a little paranoid here..you will be fine.

  7. I agree with previous commenter - I don't think they have rabies.

  8. just because it is a wild animal doesn't mean it has rabies but if you start feeling sick i would go to the hospital but they also don't carry rabies but it could have a diseases

  9. ARE YOU RETARTED? CROWS CANT GET RABIES!

  11. call a doctor but you should not have rabies because raybies should not 'land' on food

  13. It isn't possible. There's no need to worry.

  14. No, but you may end up with Crow's feet.
