Race Horse Tattoo's?

my horse passed away last year and i've been trying to find out what his tattoo number was, i don't have papers for him, but i was wondering if there is a way to find it out.

The only way I know of is if you know his Real race name

then you might be able to find it

Call the TB. Racing assoc. in NEW YORK  515-328-2660

IT would help if you know his breeding

But you must know his race name

other then that I don't think you'll find out

Not sure about thoroughbreds but with standardbreds you can go to pathways (not sure exact address but there is a link through the US Trotting Assoc. websight)and if you know the horses registered name, or something very close to it, it will let you see the tat number.

I would think the Jockey Club would have something similar but not sure since I have never owned a thoroughbred.

If the horse is gone and it wasn't written down..no. the tattoo number is on the lip; and without it there's no way to find out who he was. Consider him a good horse. Sorry about your loss.
