Today some of my Asian friends told me some thing about races. They told me blacks are naturally strong which I don't believe because I was a really weak person. But I want to know if this is true also if this is what about Asians and other races.

  1. People say black people can dance very well and I suck! And I'm so weak. Those are stereotypes. People like to think the black race has no brain at all but they think they are being nice when they "nicely" tell you that at least you were good enough to be slave thanks to your strength. This is so wrong. Lies!!

  2. Oh do you want me to say that Caucasians are explorers, managers, organizers and Presidents. Asians are intellectual savvy..and the Blacks are well...athletic. I don't particularly agree with stereotypes and it shouldn't matter. We are all given a set of circumstances with the brains and brawn to shape our world to the way we want (in a free society). There are differences in the races that you can't get around (skulls, for instance). But I celebrate diversity.

  3. there was something going around a while back ,someone stated that the reason there were so many black athletes ,was because of all the selective breeding of slaves....garbage.... all race does for you is acclimate you to a certain environment, hot or cold or sunny, temperate, tropics, etc................tom

  4. Your friends don't know what they're talking about.

Race is a bogus concept; there's nothing to it.

There's just one race of humans.

People vary. People whose ancestors came from different continents vary.

  5. Racial stereotypes usually relate to racial averages. Most inherited characteristics (e.g., tallness or intelligence) follow a normal distribution within a race. Most of the race's members will fall within a standard deviation of the average. Of course, you can always find a few exceptions. But you must not forget that they ARE exceptions, meaning they are uncommon.

There are ways to "play up" the exceptions in order to create a false appearance that they are the usual sort. The media do this with people of different races, in order to sculpt public opinion about those races.

If you want to know the truth, turn off the TV and go outside. If you don't think you can learn enough of the truth in person and must seek data in a denser form, then you need to find sources that either are uncorrupted or are, at least, corrupted only in ways you can untangle by careful thinking.

Races can indeed be generally characterized. The problem is that too many people are engaging in MIScharacterization.

  6. they told you a stereotype about black people.

It may be true for some black people, but not all.  and it is also true of some people of other races.

  7. It's hard to draw the line between what's a cultural thing and what's genetic; but we'd be naive to assume all races had precisely equal genes.  That'd be too easy.

It's a popular theory today that the african race has a superior disposition toward physical activity.  This is because it has been more important to them as a race.  Over a couple of thousand years, other races - asians, caucasians, middle-easterners were inventing stuff which allowed them to get lazier and lazier.  Agriculture became so advanced that hunting was a supplement, not a requirement, to dietary living.

By contrast, Africans went the other way and continued in a more visceral way of living.  Running, hunting, and physical combat continued for two millenia or so where many other cultures replaced them with riding, farming, and ranged warfare.  Eventually, Africa was dragged into the modern age in a manner we prefer not to think about any more and I'm sure I don't have to go into detail about.

What this means is that Africans have two thousand years of extra natural selection favouring their physical supremacy.  While that's not enough to come close to making a new species, it's enough to give someone the edge at the berlin olympics to flip-off someone's idea of a master race.

    Hope this helped!

EDIT:  Asians and Caucasians don't receive much in the way of stereotypes given entirely to their genes.  People consider Asians more industrious and studious, but that's commonly considered cultural, not genetic.  Caucasians aren't stereotyped as being good at anything - except perhaps getting an easy ride in society by virtue of blending in.  Perhaps out of White-Guilt  -  or perhaps it's because they're the template against which other races are tested for strengths or weaknesses.

  8. While a genetic race is nonexistent, cultural races are alive and well in contemporary rhetoric. You can find a lot of answers to your questions on this website.

  9. The word Race is a prejudices and misleading word derived from a Darwinist view point that divides mankind and asserts that some are more evolved than others, Charles Darwin thought that the black race was less developed. This mentality also lead to the extermination of the Jews and Christians because the German government thought it better their race. We need remove this term from our understanding because their is less than .001 percent difference between different people groups.

  10. Sorry, I must correct you there is only one race of humans.
