Race car question??

What is the correct amount of caster split on a dirt oval racecar? I use 4 degrees.... Also, my car is tight on entry and loose on exit... I run 110 pounds of bite on the left rear, will it be too much to try 150 or do I need to try something else to make the car turn in better?? I run 3 wheel brakes with 110 pounds of bite but I want to get away from 3 wheel brakes.... I want to run 4 wheel but the car is too tight on entry. Any suggestions?? I run 3 inches of stagger across the rear. I also have 1/8" toe out.

The car is a limited modified... It is 2350 pounds and uses a 80's metric GM chassis.

  5. what size track do you run on? what is your front stagger? i woudl try a little less pressure in the left front tire to help it turn in better. you may also want to address your question at nascar.com there are people there with much more technical knowledge

  6. The amount of caster will depend on how much bank the track has. Stay with the 3 wheel brakes for the dirt, that helps the car take a set getting into the corner. The spring rate you run will depend on track conditions, heavy, dry slick, etc. As to the car pushing getting into the corner, the old rule of thumb, if it pushes going in put weight into the left rear, if it pushes coming out of the corner, take weight out of the left rear. Talk to some of the guys that have been running at this track for a while, you will find they will help you.
