There are numerous greyhound racing shows related to different categories which are held at the race tracks of USA and United Kingdom. These races are distinctive from each other due to their respective grades. United Kingdom and America have different Grades
through which they are differentiated.
The highest and the most prestigious races scheduled on the dirt track of England are known as Open Races.
In USA, the premium chases are identified as SA’s or RSA’s, an abbreviation of Racing Secretaries A class.
There are few significant chases related to the top class groups, like the most famous chase of United Kingdom is the English Greyhound Derby, which is one of the Grade OR quests.
This combat was first raced in White City Stadium London while now it’s organized at the Wimbledon race track.
Bedsides the English Greyhound Derby, there are few derby races which come under the United Kingdom Open Race, among them is the Irish Greyhound Derby which has gained the most prominence.
This chase was first introduced in the year 1934, at Shelbourne Park, Dublin and it is still held on the same venue.
Along with the Derby chase there are various races in the group of Open Race. St Ledger a well known lure chase was first scheduled at Wembley Stadium, in the year 1928, now the event is arranged on Wimbledon racing course.
Greyhounds sent in for the Gold Collar and the Scurry cup sets the track of Belle Vue on fire.
Blue Riband is held at Hall Green while Henlow Derby, as the name shows, is scheduled at Henlow race course.
Champion Stakes opens its trap doors at Romford race course, while the hounds in Eclipse National Sprint break the blaze out at Nottingham.
The Yarmouth race course is honoured to schedule the 65th East Anglian Derby, while Sunderland organises the event of Classics and Grand Prix.
The stadium of Newcastle is thrilled when the All England Cup takes place on its dirt track.
Besides these major events there are many Minor Open shows, like the Northern Flat on Belle Vue race course and Midland Flat on the Hall Green dirt track.
Sittingbourne, schedules Kent Derby, while Kent St Ledger at Crayford’s course. Angel of The North Oaks gives a chance to its racers to win a purse at the Newcastle race track.
Swindon, Poole, Sheffield, Monmore Green, Sunderland, Nottingham, Oxford, Hove, Shawfield, Crayford and Romford are few tracks where minor open races are scheduled.
Since many years, this sport is acquiring fame, every event has its unique importance and its recognition with respect to its venue.
