Race horse trainer!?

Question

I'm going to have a Thoroughbred ranch in Lexington Kentucky where I will own AND train my own horses. I'll obviously be paying for the help, and is it 10 percent for the jock? I was just curious as to how I should get my first Thorougbred....aren't race horses EXPENSIVE? I guess a cheap claiming race, but that still seems pricey.....?

Well , You don't pay for the jockeys the owner does that ,, I think you better learn lots more ,,,,,I think your in a dreaming state

Yes, jockeys get 10%... and before you get into horse racing, know that it takes alot of time and money. dont go into it expecting to win right away. Finding a good jockey will be hard since your just going to begin, dont put all you life saving into the racing buisness. its a serious thing and you have to be willing to pa alot. Ive anwered alot of horse racing questions and ive noticed you do seem  to ask alot. but talk to a profesional trainer. Im 15 and i know alot about racing since ive grown up with my dad being a trainer and owner and i my self own my own horses. And let me tell you no trainer will tell you their secreats about racing. You have to find things out on your own and be willing to make mistakes. But become more aware with the racing industry, it can be amazing if you know what you are doing but if you dont it can give you h**l.

i would have to agree with you that they are exencive. if you want to go through with this, you may want to look at the price ranges from the diffrent types of horses. good luck
