Racewood simulators?

Question

anyone have a racewood simulator?are they any good?

where do you put the quarters ?

nothing beats the training and confidence that you will get from riding a real horse.each horse is different and trained

to use different cues.

Racewood simulators are extremely expensive aren't they?! There are only about 10 places in the country which have them and these are mainly riding schools or racing yards.

However, if you are thinking of trying one go ahead! I went on one at a Petplan Equine festival and it was well fun! It's especially helpful if you're a novice or a nervous rider.

It also helps your position without actually hurting the horse! So for instance if you have a poor position and your legs dig into your horses sides, going on a simulator is better for the horse!

I have seen those before, though I will admit that the first time I saw one I thought it was a joke.  :)  I do not have one, and while I think it's a very interesting concept, I can't see much use for it other than perhaps helping very timid people.  But then again, generally riders' timidity is the result of being on a real live horse and not a machine, so perhaps that wouldn't be useful after all!

Maybe it would be good for general exercise and conditioning on days you couldn't get to the barn?

EDIT:  bwahaha I do like how the woman in the photo is in a red fox hunting jacket.  Tally ho!  LOL  (But I thought only the Masters could wear red...what kind of fox hunt is she leading, I wonder?!)
