Rachel Kelly claims Women’s 100m butterfly semi-final: 2011 FINA World Junior Championships
Rachel Kelly of Australia impressed the arena on day five of the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships in the semi-final heat in Lima, Peru, on Saturday, August 20. The session of the meet conducted the Women’s 100m butterfly semi-final heat, in which Kelly
produced a mouth shattering splash and notched the race with a winning mark of 59.62 seconds.
After winning the event, Kelly was pleased with her individual splash in the respective meet.
In the corresponding race, Alexandra Wenk wound up second with an impressive time of 59.73 seconds and Rino Hosoda of Japan rounded out the top three with an inspiring mark of 59.75 seconds. Sorribes Ignacio of Spain was placed fourth with a stunning time
of 59.81 seconds, while Vanessa Mohr of South Africa settled fifth in a time of 59.87 seconds.
Noemie Thomas of Canada earned sixth position in a time of 59.93 seconds. Kendyl Stewart of United States of America was placed seventh in a time of 1 minute and 00.02 seconds and Justine Bruno of France wound up eighth with a time of 1 minute and 00.80
seconds.
Moreover, Celina Li of United States of America was placed ninth with a time of 1 minute and 01.14 seconds. Svetlana Chimrova of Russia settled tenth after touching the wall and ending her swim in a time of 1 minute and 01.20 seconds. In the corresponding
race, Brianna Throssell of Australia wound up eleventh in a time of 1 minute and 01.45 seconds and Vaiva Gimbutyte of Lithuania finished twelfth with a mark of 1 minute and 01.60 seconds.
Devon Bibault of Canada earned thirteenth place honours with a mark of 1 minute and 01.79 seconds, while Mikkayla Sheridan of Australia was placed fourteenth in a time of 1 minute and 02.21 seconds. Osman Hisham of Egypt settled fifteenth in the respective
meet after she touched the finishing blockade in a time of 1 minute and 02.22 seconds. Last, but not the least, Ezgi Ayse Yazici of Turkey earned sixteenth place honours in a time of 1 minute and 02.72 seconds.
