Rachel Naurath seizes Women’s 500yard freestyle gold – Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet
Rachel S Naurath of Virginia-VA seized gold medal of the Women’s 500yard freestyle at the 2012 Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet on Friday, November 16.
Naurath demonstrated her astonishing efforts in the distant freestyle discipline and proved her eligibility for the title.
With her relentless efforts in the 20-lap race, Naurath stifled hopes of her opponents and transpired on the finishing blockade for gold medal. She enjoyed an advantage one and a half body length over her closest competitor and surfaced on the wall for the title with an effort of 4 minutes and 43.83 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Lindsay Vrooman of Hoosiers, who stayed considerably slower from her and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 45.41 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Gabi E Shishkoff of Penn State-MA, who stayed 2.08 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by producing a time of 4 minutes and 45.41 seconds.
Fourth spot of the race was secured by Shaun M Casey of Virginia-VA, who was only 0.50 seconds slower and posted a time of 4 minutes and 47.99 seconds.
Casey was chased by Kelley E Offutt of Virginia-VA, who was one body length behind and concluded her race in a time of 4 minutes and 48.99 seconds for fifth position.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Alyson P Ackman of Penn State-MA, who was 0.79 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 50.78 seconds.
Ackman was traced by Hanne K Borgersen of Virginia-VA, who was one and a half body length slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 52.36 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth spot of the event was secured by Megan L Siverling of Penn State-MA, who was 1.16 seconds apart and posted a time of 4 minutes and 53.52 seconds.
In addition, Naurath expressed contentment over victory in the 500yard discipline and told that she would continue her hard work to achieve the same in future.
