Rachel Stoehr conquers Girl’s 500 yard freestyle crown: 2011 High School State Championships
After the scintillating performance of Olivia Smoliga in the 100 yard freestyle, Rachel Stoehr dominated the Girl’s 500 yard freestyle race against her rivals in the swimming pool. The 2011 High School State Championship was conducted in Winnetka, Illinois,
from November 18-19.
More importantly, Rachel Stoehr was up against Stephanie Marchuk and Emma Smith in the respective meet. Amazingly, Stoehr got off to a strong start in the final encounter and mesmerised her rivals by creating appealing turns in the swimming pool. Consequently,
Rachel Stoehr went on to claim the Girl’s 500 yard freestyle title against her challengers by clicking the finishing divider in a winning time of 4 minutes and 50.14 seconds.
In the meantime, Stephanie Marchuk earned second place honours by claiming the finishing fence in a blot of 4 minutes and 52.42 seconds. In addition, the third place went to Emma Smith in a winning spot of 4 minutes and 56.74 seconds. Moreover, Emily Launer
demolished her rival, Julia Roller in the respective race by knocking the finishing wall in a victorious time of 4 minutes and 57.62 seconds to earn the fourth place honours. Meanwhile, Julia Roller settled at fifth place in a blot of 4 minutes and 57.92 seconds.
On the other hand, Morgan Dickson claimed sixth position in the respective splash by touching the finishing fence in a mark of 4 minutes and 58.00 seconds, while Cristina Favia grabbed seventh position by clicking the finishing barrier in a mark of 4 minutes
and 59.01 seconds. Afterwards, Abbey King showed her consistency throughout the race and got eighth position in a time of 4 minutes and 59.89 seconds.
Additionally, Campbell Costley earned ninth place in the respective swim by banging the finishing fence in a time of 5 minutes and 00.26 seconds, whereas, Jennifer Weigand settled at tenth place in a time of 5 minutes and 00.97 seconds. Further, Kristen
Worthington claimed eleventh position in a blot of 5 minutes and 02.71 seconds, while Veronica Gibson settled at twelfth place in 5 minutes and 04.49 seconds.
