Rachel Stoehr occupies Girls 200 yard freestyle – High School State Championships, Illinois
Rachel Stoehr of Lake Forest High School occupied the title of short course 200 yard freestyle at the 2011 Girls High School State Championships in Illinois on Saturday, November 19 in Winnetka.
Stoehr demonstrated her outstanding efforts in the eight-lap freestyle swim by submitting a time of 1 minute and 49.16 seconds. With her remarkable efforts, she remained slightly ahead of her following swimmer, Stephanie Marchuk of Winnetka.
Marchuk was just 0.43 seconds slower than her former finisher and reached the podium for silver medal with a timing of 1 minute and 49.59 seconds.
Similarly, the silver medallist remained prominently away from her following swimmer, Elly Vitek of LaGrange, who acquired the podium for bronze medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 50.97 seconds.
The bronze medallist was trailed by Connie Hsu of Glen Ellyn , who remained 0.25 seconds behind and emerged on the finishing end with a fourth fastest time of 1 minute and 51.22 seconds.
Hsu was trailed by Maddy Sims of Downers Grove, who remained 0.50 seconds slower and touched the wall in a time of 1 minute and 51.70 seconds for fifth position.
Sims was chased by Morgan Dickson of Libertyville, who was 0.73 seconds slower and reported a time of 1 minute and 52.43 seconds for sixth position.
In the meantime, the spectators experienced laudable effort of Saint Charles' Emma Smith in the 200 yard Individual Medley (IM). Smith produced a splendid time of 2 minutes and 02.82 seconds for gold medal of the event.
She was traced by Sarah Sykstus of Aurora, who remained 1.06 seconds behind the gold medallist and tapped the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 03.88 seconds for silver medal.
Sykstus remained 0.70 seconds ahead of her subsequent rival, Michelle Garland of Willmette, who surfaced as the third position holder by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 04.58 seconds.
The session ended after the completion of all scheduled events whereas the arena applauded for exhausting efforts of all teenage swimmers in their exclusive events. Furthermore, winners collected their accolades after the conclusion of Championship.
