This is for my homework.

I know that in the 1930s there was the Great Depression.

I searched on google, dogpile, ask search, but I could only find 1950s~1960s.

should i look at the 1950s- 1960s one?

Is it not so different from the 1930s?

Can you tell me about the Racial Discrimination in the 1930s?

Thanks!

  1. For a wonderful case study of racism in the 1930's, research the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment. African Americans with syphilis (and mostly illiterate) were told that they would receive medical care in return for participating in an experiment on untreated syphilis. This experiment went on into the 1970's, long after a cure for syphilis was found (which these African Americans were barred from using), and the amount of racism to be found in the study is heartbreaking.
