Racing Genk midfielder Kevin de Bruyne close to Chelsea move
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-De-Bruyne-c20717, the 20-year-old Belgian international, revealed he was hopeful of securing a move to English Premier League giants Chelsea. The Racing Genk midfielder claimed his currently club were currently in talks with the Blues over a possible move
and that if talks went as hoped, he could complete his move to Stamford Bridge in the next few days.
If signed, De Bruyne will be the third Belgian player Chelsea have signed in the current transfer window, having previously signed goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672. While the 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League
club since the beginning of the summer transfer window, the move has not been able to go through.
Whether it was hesitance on Chelsea’s part or an attempt by his current side to retain his services, the transfer now seems almost certain to go through. The Blues have since then stepped up their efforts to secure the young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international and have
been in talks with Racing Genk as well as the player’s agent regarding a possible move.
De Bruyne said while speaking to reporters:
“My manager went to Chelsea on Wednesday and discussions have been good.
Maybe by the end of the month a deal can be sorted out, because that would be a good thing for all three parties - and if there is an agreement with Chelsea, I would certainly spend another year at Genk.”
There was previously talk of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 buying De Bruyne and sending him out on a loan move, like they did with Courtois. The young goalkeeper was sent to Atletico Madrid for regular first team experience, something he was not guaranteed at Stamford Bridge.
However, Genk made it very clear they did not want De Bruyne joining their rivals.
That demand by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Genk interfered with Chelsea’s plans of loaning De Bruyne out to Anderlecht, after having signed their star striker Lukaku. The midfielder revealed he would not mind signing with the Blues and returning to his current club on a loan
move, which seems the most likely possibility if the deal goes through.
