Racing Post announced as a new sponsor for the Arkle Chase

Racing Post has been announced as the new sponsor for the Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase, which will be held at Cheltenham on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
This news pleased the Racing Post editor, Bruce Millington, who stated, “Racing Post is thrilled to be returning to the Cheltenham Festival as a sponsor this year. We have been looking for the right opportunity and to be associated with as prestigious
a race as the Arkle Chase seems very fitting.”
He further went onto predict that the event will be a successful one, as there is some exciting challenge expected amongst the horses taking part in it.
On the other hand, director of sponsorship at Cheltenham, Peter McNeile, was also happy with the new sponsorship deal. He was excited to witness the much awaited event and also hoped that Cheltenham’s partnership with Racing Post continues building
stronger in the future.
McNeile went onto say, “We have always had a good relationship with the Racing Post team, who continue to work with us on the Festival magazine, and I'm sure that their backing of this historic race can only add to the excitement in the build-up to
March 13.”
The Arkle Challenge has attracted as many as 27 entries, and the event promises to be an exciting one. There is some close racing expected between Sprinter Sacre, Al Ferof and Peddlers Cross.
The former of the three horses might have the best chance of winning, as he is in tremendous form. He has entered just two chase races in his career and has been victorious on both occasions.
However, things will not be easy for the six-year-old horse, as he will face a fierce competition from, Peddlers Cross and Al Ferof. Both horses have an equally impressive record to that of Sprinter Sacre, and the bookmakers will be expecting a three
way battle at Cheltenham.
Peddlers Cross has taken part in three chase events until now, and managed to win two of them. Other than that, he has also finished as a runner up once.
On the other hand, Al Ferof has almost got a similar record, but the only difference is that he has taken two victories and one third placed finish.
